How SMS Storage Works
Android SMS is typically stored in a SQLite database on internal storage. After deletion, data blocks may still exist and can be recovered with professional tools.
Method 1: Check SMS Trash
Some phone SMS apps have a trash folder:
- Open SMS app
- Look for "Deleted" or "Trash" folder
- Select and restore messages
Method 2: Restore from Backup
If you have backups:
- Google Backup: Restore SMS from Google backup after factory reset
- Samsung Cloud: Samsung phones can restore from cloud backup
- Other Cloud Services: Like Xiaomi Cloud, Huawei Cloud, etc.
Method 3: Use Professional Recovery Software
- Install Baicha Data Recovery Master on computer
- Enable USB debugging and connect phone
- Select SMS type for deep scan
- Preview found messages
- Select needed messages to recover
