Using iCloud Backup to Restore iPhone Data
What iCloud Backup Contains
- App data
- Photos and videos (if iCloud Photos not enabled)
- Device settings
- iMessage, SMS, MMS
- Ringtones, etc.
Restore Entire iCloud Backup
- Preparation:
- Ensure stable Wi-Fi connection
- Ensure sufficient battery or connect to power
- Erase iPhone:
- Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone
- Select "Erase All Content and Settings"
- Restore from iCloud:
- During setup, choose "Restore from iCloud Backup"
- Sign in with Apple ID
- Select appropriate backup
- Wait for restoration to complete
Selective Data Recovery
Some data can be restored individually:
- Contacts: iCloud.com > Account Settings > Restore Contacts
- Calendars: iCloud.com > Account Settings > Restore Calendars
